Instructor: Brian Zoldessy Nine Sessions
Saturdays, Starting January 12, 2008; 10:30am=E2=80=9312:30pm Fee: $150
Script: The Glass Menagerie, by Tennessee Williams - Copies Provided
The DNA of a script is the basic building blocks of scene investigation.
The discovery and identification of these separate elements will deepen
the actor=E2=80=99s understanding to the material and heighten the ability=20=
to live
=E2=80=9Cin-the-moment=E2=80=9D. Moment to moment acting is indispensable an=
d vital
to the creation of moving and believable performances. The scene study
and analysis will guide the performer to the organic communication of
these moments, resulting in pure action; clear, economic, committed and
comprehensive. This process and its principals can be applied to every
monologue, scene, every separate act, and an entire play.
Actor and Director scene investigation:
=E2=80=A2 A step by step approach; investigation leads to doing rather than=
being.
=E2=80=A2 Clear, immediate, easily accessible; a one page reference graph b=
ecomes
the actor=E2=80=99s roadmap; a guide that leads the performer to actions.
=E2=80=A2 Creation of a character map; a quick reference; getting acquainte=
d with
the play and discovering important patterns which may go unnoticed.
=E2=80=A2 Clarification of beats and units in every moment of the scene or =20=
play.
